Youth Philanthropy Board
—Grand Island, Nebraska—

The Youth Philanthropy Board in Grand Island, Nebraska is the second oldest TPI Affiliate program, and has done an incredible job not just adopting the TPI curriculum, but truly excelling with the program. Sponsored by the Greater Grand Island Community Foundation, they immediately found success with the YPB, yet have still been able to continue to grow. Increasing their cohort size to 30 students, they have granted $20,000 to community organizations each year, and are now fundraising even more, nearly hitting $26,000 last year.

Their large group of incredibly experienced and passionate mentors have continued to find innovative ways to push the YPB to be the best it can be. “The experience for all involved was more impactful than we realized it was going to be, including the mentors”, reported Amy Price, previous Program Coordinator.

Looking to cross the $100,000 mark this year in total funds granted through the YPB, they will absolutely continue to nourish the incredible potential of their wonderful students, and we at TPI are incredibly excited to continue to be a part of their growth.

The Three Pillars program is extraordinary. In the past fourteen years of working in philanthropy and community development, I have never seen a program so comprehensive and exciting. The students are dynamic and the relationship between mentor and young philanthropists will truly change our community for the better.
